Mater Hospital

Cappa completed civil construction works in the Mater Hospital, as part of their new state of the art palliative care facility and modern-day surgery unit project.

Part 1:

The new build is constructed on top of the existing carpark. As a result, Cappa enlarged and strengthened the  existing foundations and columns, in order to support the additional loading.

  • Retrofitting Reinforcement cage to form wider pad footing.
  • Drilling, anchoring and tying of reinforcement bar.
  • Bar Scheduling from Drawings.

Part 2:

A temporary ramp was also constructed in order to link two split level parking lots together, creating additional space for staff parking.

  • Dowling starter bars into the existing structure and laying reinforcement mesh.
  • Ramp, wing walls and hobs poured and finished.
  • Ramp completed within a weekend to ensure the carpark was operational for the weekday.
